Winter Mountain Jobs
Getting closer to the action is what it’s all about. The opportunity for many to work on the mountain is once in a lifetime. Our local mountains open from November 10th most seasons, depending on the position, you will need to plan to be in Banff to start training from October 20th most seasons. There are limited positions with later start dates through November.
Mountain Jobs Include:
Guest services
Bus chaperones
Base services/Parking attendants (requirement to be over 21 to drive vehicles)
Retail
Restaurant (chefs, servers, food and beverage),
Hotel
Gondola & lift operations
Day care
Ski / snowboard rental and tuning shops
Wages from $17/hour
*Weekly hours range from 25-38 hours/ week with 2 consecutive days off, (and can be variable depending on the position, and weather conditions working at a ski resort)
Summer Jobs
Unlike other mountain towns, Banff’s busiest season is in the Summer as Banff hosts well over 2 million tourists, attracted here to explore Canada's largest National Park and the spectacular Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Town Jobs include:
- Hotels
- Restaurants
- Coffee shops
- Ice cream parlours
- Candy shops
- Retail stores (sports clothing, jewellery, ski hire/ rentals)
As well as other outdoor opportunities such as:
- Landscaping
- Guest services
- Gondola Operations
- Dock hands, fishing guides, boat captains and interpretive guides
Expect to work 40 hours per week, with 5 days on and two days off
